What he said. Nice folks too. Although, you might want to give BJ a little more info than you've given us regarding what kind of paddle you're looking for (hint hint). ;)
You come too.

Howdy
I'm guessing you are looking for a rec. paddle? since wal-mart doesn't sell WW paddles. I have a 2 Piece Harmony Sea Passage Carbon Rec. Paddle I would sell for $60.00. (I believe it was $130.00 new).
It has only been used a few times ( less than 5 ) over the last 10 years, as I am more of a WW paddler. and didn't have a Rec. Boat. ( borrowed one a few times) It is a nice paddle. I can send some pics if your interested. And if you know anyone looking for a nice Rec. Boat, I have decided to sell my 2012 Dagger Axis 12.0 ( I Will be posting it soon after I get pictures of it). I have decided to sell it for $600.00.
Pm or email me at kayakjeenyus@gmail.com

And I'm not far from you. (just south of Kimberling City)

Have you called? He might have something used. Also, be sure to check boatertalk if you haven't already. There's a Werner Ocoee on there right now, and I'm sure there are others. Good luck.
You come too.

If I can find some plastic I'm going to make a couple sets of hand paddles. Tired em for the first time last week and I was impressed...and they're cheap!

Actualy hand paddles are easier to roll with for most and make a good back-up paddle option.
I understand that $$ can be a issue, Im on a budget also. Check online retailers CONSTANTLY, someone always has gear on sale. Right now........ NOC.. werner doubble diamond staight shaft (carbon blade) $ 250 ($100 off retail)
CKS... Lightining gradient ( fiberglass blade) $ 240 ( around $75 off retail)

I will be at Richland Creek until Sunday. I can bring them with me if you are around there and interested in them. Please let me know before 4 o'clock today. If you want to give me your phone #, I will call you before I leave.

I caught the Gradient on sale for like $160 earlier this year but if I hadnt bought 2 while they were on sale I'd be all over that Werner carbon.
It also depends on what you want out of it. Creeking? playboating? Mid-size blade? Full Blade ?
Next to your Pfd and safety gear your paddle IS the most important piece of gear you have.
You can paddle a cracked boat but not with a crappy paddle.
