I need advice on the Current River in SE MO. What stretch would be ideal next Thursday - Sunday of next week? I heard Round Spring down or Cedar Grove down but wanted to see if anyone has been up there recently or know of any recent reports.
Thanks,

Re: Current vs Eleven Point
Unfortunately they are experiencing the worst drought in 60 years ( according to someone that lives up there) the gauge just above Akers is currently .98 ft. I was considering doing a lower section (Akers down) a few weeks ago and was told it was low but floatable from there..Welch Springs contributes a great deal, however it's gone down since then by several inches. You might try this link http://www.missouriscenicrivers.com/riverlevels.html Or call an outfitter. I completely understand your desire to find moving water :) Good luck

If there is enough water; Akers Ferry to Pulltite is a good section. Cave Spring at the 1/2 way point is really cool. We were up there in late May and it was low but floatable. No dragging in the shoals. May not be the case now.

Thanks for the input. I might just stick with the Eleven Point River from Greer down to Riverton or Hwy 142.
