The Caddo River in the Arkadelphia area is always running at a non-dragging level. You can see full details of the two mile float at http://class2arkansas.com/caddo-river-1/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Entergy release message says generation begins at 2:00 p.m. this week, so I would expect you could have a nice leisurely float at least until about 3:00 p.m. before the release water catches up to you. I haven't paddled there during a release, but will guess it is not really what you will want and may be unsafe for beginning boaters.

I think this would be totally appropriate for you. Note, if you start googling, many of the descriptions of Little Missouri are for the section above the lake, so don't let that scare you off. We will be floating the section below the lake, which is easier.

I think the description linked below was written by Captain Aleve who often leads trips on this section:

http://www.americanwhitewater.org/conte ... l/id/4114/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Note, he describes it at 1 and 2 generators of flow; we will have three generators going on Friday, which should make for a fast (but still not dangerous) ride.

EDIT: Note, looks like me at the Captain posted at exactly the same time. Just to avoid confusion, I'll add that EITHER the trip he suggested, OR the one we are going on, would be good choices. My recommendation would be that you, the wife, and the Captain should ALL come to the Little Mo on Thursday!

The release on the Lower Caddo will really make the floating better. Even during release would still consider a class 1. If on the weekend you may want to go in the morning to avoid the crowds of tube floaters. Remmell to Rockport is a good float if you wait for the weekend.

:myday" Whatever you decide, it is best to go with at least one other boat. (for safety, shuttle and enjoyment)

Be safe. Enjoy :clap:
