Anyone interested in a trip to the Current/Eleven PT?

Post by lbaker » Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:04 pm

I just returned from a paddling trip to northwest Michigan, where the temps were cool and the rivers flowing. Now I'm back home in the land of drought and heat. I really want, ok, maybe need to paddle somewhere! Day trips? Something?? I would want to go during the week for obvious reasons, for at least 2-3 days since it's a long haul for me.My time frame is 7-23 through 8-10. Anyone interested?

Leigh

Leigh,

It's not the Current but the water is good and cool, and fairly close for a day trip. Several of us will be paddling the Remmel Dam to Rockport trip this Saturday. Meeting at the Ledge boat ramp between 11:30 and Noon to shuttle up to the put-in. You're always welcome. Next weekend the same, only it's 'Surf&Turf'.

Best Regards
Jim

Why thank you Jim, that's a splendid idea, I believe I will see you all this Sat.
I've been to the Porterfield side and the area where the WW Rescue class was taught a couple years back (downstream from the ledge as I recall), can you post or pm me with directions to the ledge boat ramp?
Thanks,
Leigh

Leigh,

Coming up from I-30 from the south you will take exit #97 (the same one also used to get to Porterfield's)
When you come up to the end of the exit ramp just turn right and proceed on across the Tanner Street Bridge over the river.
Near the top of the hill past the river you will turn left on Riverview St. Just follow Riverview down the hill, on under the interstate bridge and to the parking area at the boat ramp.
If you have any difficulties, just call me. 501and8608323

Best Regards
Jim

Wow, I just had a big change of plans. A friend just called to ask if I would be interested in helping her drive out to New Mexico to take care of some family business. Leaving Sun. I won't make SnT, but will try to catch a run with you guys before summer's over.

Leigh, you should come to Rendezvous. You can do the Rockport run and play on the ledge to your heart's content and do lots of other fun stuff too. :yahoo:
You come too.
