It's made of western red cedar, aspen pine, & mahogany. It's hollow on the inside except for the fish skeleton-like wood structure. I've taken it surfing (more like glorified boogie boarding) in Florida 2 years in a row and it does great if there are big enough waves. It is between 16 & 20 pounds, which is on the heavier side for a short surfboard, but even if you don't use it, it sure looks nice on a wall or hung from the ceiling!
