Spring River 6/30 - 7/7

Post by Wildwood » Fri Jun 29, 2012 5:57 pm

Anyone coming to Spring River between now and next Sunday? :kayak:
I'll help with shuttle in order to float almost any day.

I'm going to be on the river next Saturday! I don't know if I'm camping, but I do know I will have my GoPro running. I'm probably gonna get up there late Friday or really early Saturday. Should be plenty of crazies to watch!

I'm thinking of coming down from Mo. with my newbie nephew Fri eve. 7/6 and paddling Sat & Sun. Would be willing to connect for shuttle. Probably stay at Riverside or Spring River Oaks. I can send some contact info. if interested.
It's been a few years since I have been down and not sure I have been on it this low? Is the projected level like dragging type low?

Steve, glad to help with a shuttle, not sure if I'll be floating or not. River is low but no dragging yet. A few bumpy spots, and weaving between rocks in the area below Dam #3. Still a fun float. :kayak: Give me a shout at 5o1 589-2055 when you get close.

Thanks Jan, I will call you later. Now I'm looking for a place to stay that has A/C. I'm not into camping in 90-100 degree temps and humidity. I sold my pop-up with A/C. There does not seem to be any cabins or motel rooms around? Any suggestions? I have my nephew anticipating the trip now!
We are willing to stay a reasonable distance away from there.

I checked both the other day and there are no vacancies. However, we did get a room for Fri & Sat at Riverview motel in Mammoth Spring. Thinking of paddling from dam to Spring River Oaks on Saturday and from (?) to Hardy on Sunday. I want my nephew to get to paddle high falls. Is there access somewhere just above saddler falls?
Anyone is welcome to join us.
Jan, I will still call you later.

Steve, I've stayed at that motel. Not bad. We were overlooking the river --- and the railroad track. The train noise didn't bother me. I know it's all along the river.

My cell signal has been iffy the past few days. If your cell # is different than the one you called from, would you text it to me? I can call you when I go into Hardy.

See y'all (& We66er) this weekend. Have a great 4th!
