We are headed to the Nanny today. With all the AR boaters that are starting to move this way, you should have no trouble finding a partner. Have a great time!

I'm bringing a new paddler out there Jul 22-26th. We're planning to run the Nanty each day (with him in a ducky) and maybe something easier too (Tuck, Little T, etc.). If we can get an early enough start, I'll probably hit the Ocoee on the way out Sunday too. Oh yeah...if anyone wants to run the Tuck town section, I could use someone to set shuttle.

Having gone out to the Nanty on my own more times than maybe on I have been on the mulberry,,, you will not have a problem finding people to paddle with. A couple of dry years in AR, I ran the Nanty more than the Mulberry.

Worst comes to worst, get NOC to shuttle you. Run with the raft group that puts on with you until you get behind. Then just wait for another group. You will never be alone for long.

If you are so inclined, get with ERA or NOC for a half day or full day of private instruction. You will learn a lot independent of your skill level.

If you are not sure about the NOC shuttle thing, go to surfing rapid and hang out until there are people there and hang with them downstream and playing there.

The outfitter on the Tuck (Forget their name) will shuttle you also. It is a bit easier. But you are more likley to be running solo.

Should be out there about that time in the last week of July. Probably do Nant and may want to head to Pigeon. I'll post again as the date gets closer. ty  :beer2:

The twins and I will be at the Motel 6 in Newport TN on the Pigeon all next week or until we move on to the Ocoee. The boys are taking a kayak class on Tuesday.

just got back.. Plenty of folks to paddle with!! Just talk to strangers and you'll have a new crew. we boated with several people that we'd met at the put in. Made some friends that we hope to keep in touch with.

Look for paddling celebs at NOC on the weekends. Last saturday, we met Emily Jackson, Nick T, Pat Kellar and the Holcombe clan. It was awesome.. Trip report coming soon.
