Our monthly meeting will be at The Oyster Bar on Tuesday, June 26th. We'll start at 7:30 but many come early for dinner.
Our program will be a presentation by Katy Carver on the Buffalo River Foundation.
The BRF website gives the following information on their mission:
"Our mission is to conserve for public benefit the natural, recreational, scenic, historical and productive values of the Buffalo National River.
The Buffalo River Foundation (BRF) is a not-for-profit conservation organization. BRF operates primarily as a land trust. The Buffalo River Foundation seeks to acquire conservation easements or other ownership interests in lands within the Buffalo River watershed with ecological importance, water quality benefits and scenic value in order to preserve and protect those lands and conservation values in perpetuity. The BRF can provide interested private land owners a variety of voluntary conservation options to maintain the scenic and cultural heritage of the Buffalo River. The leadership of BRF is comprised of individuals who possess an understanding of the Buffalo River's history and needs, as well as have a desire to work collaboratively with other people and institutions to find free market solutions to conserve land in the watershed."
