I recently inherited an old blue hole OCA -6619 in good shape except for a foot long gash in the bottom of it. The gash does not go all the way through and there are no signs of any damage on the inside of the canoe. Is there anyway to know what material it is made from? Is this something that i could put a fiberglass patch over or would i be better finding some sort of repair kit? I know the boat is pushing 30 years old.... probably older. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Canoe repair questions
Josh, ozark mt trading co.hwy 62 e. has a G-flex kit for about $20 ... tape around the gash about a 1/4 inch bigger than the gash. and sand it with #60 or#80 grit sand paper.mix part A with part B pour it or use a foamy brush to fill it .. make sure the canoe it level or the g-flex will drip out and run down the side.it gets hard in 45 min. in the sun shine.
