A random Tuesday with demshitz

Post by Jeremy M » Mon May 21, 2012 1:13 pm

Tomorrow 5/22/2012 the Demshitz boys are gonna be at Ouachita Outdoors. They're gonna show up at 9:30-10:00 and will be hanging out most of the day. We will then be headed down to Rockport about 4:30-5:00 and with any luck ( hint hint) the water will be there for a throw down session in the new Pyranha boats!!

Waiting around all day for water that is not there? Maybe you need to change your way of looking at things or paddleing things.

We put on at 11:30 this morning and took off at 7PM and paddled for over 5 hours of that time and we had a great day.We also picked up 4 bags of trash and about 6 pounds of broken glass. Beaver lake has plenty of water and that good time was had in Seakayaks. Great scenery, never boring. Lots of wildlife. Several hundred miles of coves and shoreline and it chnages with water level and season just like rivers do. It is the White river, just all saved up. Boring? Try paddleing in 40 MPH winds. Fishing? Good enough to have over 50 tournements a year.

Beats waiting around for water that is not there. And if you do not want to run a shuttle, you do not have to. It's a circular river.

Aw now, I's can't juss sit by and watch two friends get after each other...

I agree with the overall sentiment - since I've learned to enjoy wildlife watching in swamps, I tend to chuckle when the "whitewater only" folks get all testy with each other during dry spells. I just browse the board in the morning, then load a different boat and head to a different river.

But I think in this case "no water" was just short for "no water at Rockport for the demshitz boys to demonstrate their playboating skills on"

Jeremy himself leads overnight tours on Lake Ouachita in touring and/or sea kayak type boats, and has multiple boat types so he won't get land-locked under any conditions.

Hey great job on the trash haul - especially the glass! I %$*$& hate glass on rivers and lakes.

My hat's off to those who wait patently for flowing water. Spent 97% of my life doing that.

Whether you paddle pools, wait, drift, play, whatever, it's all good if you're messing around in the river.

Guess you could always bring them to the Cental Chapter meeting and they can help with the rain dance or whatever Tim has planned!
