I have in my sea kayak. Faster and cold. Makes for a shorter time to town of Beaver.

A few weeks ago I happened to be below the dam when it started generating (going from low water to "high water" as defined by the 2 generators running). That's approx 8800 cfs. I paid attention after reading previous posts about putting a whitewater park there. From my point of view within the 20 min or so it takes the area just below the dam to get to capacity the water went from the the low water no current no features to surfable wave with class II white water for the 1/4 mile below the dam (mostly just wave trains) which only lasted 10-15 min to essentially washed out once the full flow was reached (all rocks under water).

You check out the schedule of release here:

Great info, Mike. I guess we can enjoy 20 minutes of wave trains until it's washed out. Even with placed ledge features, without a sustained release, playing might be very limited and the releases would have to be moderated so it's not washed out. Sounds like it'll take detailed discussions and agreements and education of the Corps, which isn't news to anybody.
