Spot Adventure report: Buffalo (Ozark to Hersey) W/ Pics

Even with many of the local white water runs holding on the LOW side of good, we decided to go fishing, camping and exploring a stretch of river we'd never seen.

A detail missing from the report was our Otter encounters.

We camped between Hasty and Carver. At about 4 am, a pair of otters had a scuffle about 30' from our tent! Sounded like a crazy cat fight. The next morning while making coffee, an otter swam up to the shore and looked right at me from less than 15' away!!!! He swam upstream, took one more look at me and swam away. SO COOL!

Big thanks to Painter Bob and BRC for advise and logistics.
