Do you think the water levels will hold? :kayak:

Connie,

I'm pretty sure Miss Marlo and I will be floating either the Caddo or the Upper Ouachita this Saturday. I'll know more about which by mid-day tomorrow, for us. If you'd care to join in, it will be good to see you. We'll visit more later.

Best Regards
Mr. Moose

Connie,

Our plan will be for the Upper Ouachita R. tomorrow, it should still be around 4ft. in the morning which is a pretty brisk level. I think we'll float from the Sims Bridge access down through Dragover, taking out at the Dragover pull-out, about 7-8 miles.
We will meet at the Sims Bridge by 11am to unload and set shuttles.

Best Regards
Jim

Jim-Thanks for another great float-it was a beautiful day. I would not have chosen 5 hours for my first float of the year but I feel fine today. I need a bit of instruction on how to set up for a drop and not miss the slot I am aiming for. I really missed on that last drop at "house rapids" buy I was pleased that I was able to recover.Gave me a bit of confidence-It was fun seeing everyone-can hardly wait for the next trip.

Thanks Ann! Marlo and I had a nice time too, as well did our other friends along I'll bet. Boy, the weather sure turned out so nice, cloudy and a little rainy at breakfast, then glorious blue skies all the rest of the day. So far, I feel like you Ann, not too stiff after a pretty long first trip. :D We'll look forward to another one soon, hopefully on the Caddo if we get a little more rain.
Speaking of the Dragover section, I really do think it's time I write the Montgomery County Judge about the condition of the road and parking area down at the Dragover pull-out. It's such a special and well-used place. I do hope we can solicit his support with needed repairs. I wish I had thought to make a few pictures of the road yesterday.

Thanks to everyone for coming along yesterday!

Best Regards
Jim
