Salado or SFLR Monday 3-12

Post by paddlebug » Sun Mar 11, 2012 6:04 pm

I have tomorrow off and would like to enjoy some of this precipitation we seem to be getting. I would like a run on the Salado, SFLR, or something similar. I live near the Salado and I could go check the level, but Im pretty certain it would be a go with this additional rain we've gotten today. I could go get a visual if someone is interested.

Hey Matt -

I'll be chained to the desk, so can't go, but wanted to mention for you and any others considering the SFLR: the road to where we typically put in for the "section 2" run which is off Slick Rock Rd on some maps (there's certainly no street names in the WMA)...anyway, they are logging off of that road and as a result it's a bit of a mess from all the heavy equipment. It was passable for our vehicles when it was dry, but if you go soon after precip, it might take high clearance, 4WD only to negotiate back up that road. Just a heads up!
I've heard that into every life a little of it must fall,
but you'll never catch me complaining about too much of that southern rain.

Thanks for the advice Heather. I'll be sure to bring my lifted 4x4 if I end up going there. I've also got a winch in case someone gets daring.
