Grassy Lake Swamp Paddle - February 25
Grassy Lake Swamp Paddle - February 25
Grassy Lake is in the Bell Slough Wildlife Management Area and is filled with cypress. Trip length is about 6 miles, which can be easily shortened if the weather is not particularly nice. We will follow a proposed water trail route. Meet at 9:30 AM at the Bell Slough hiking trail parking lot. Take Hwy. 365 south from Mayflower or north from Maumelle. You will see a sign directing you to Bell Slough. Turn east on to Grassy Lake Road, go under I-40 and cross Palarm Creek. The parking lot is on the north side of the road. We will then caravan to the Grassy Lake put-in.

We'll be doing a loop trip and will NOT be doing a shuttle.
One of the things I like about Grassy Lake is that it has a variety of trips.

We are not 100% yet, but probably will be there.

I recommend going easy on the coffee Saturday AM. Beaver lodges are about the only place for a "break'". While the lodges are big, they are not big enough to provide privacy.

Gary and I will be there along with Jim Krueger. See you all there.

Margaret,
What a pleasant day today, thanks for taking us on this trip! It was very nice to meet new folks, and to get to visit with several others that I've paddled with on previous trips! Thanks especially to Gary and Karla for taking me along!
As the Spring progresses, I hope to make several trips on the various Caddo River sections, from Norman, Ar. to Lake Degray. I'd sure like to see you all perhaps on the Caddo Gap to Glenwood section, or the float from Glenwood to Amity at a good level sometime if that sounds OK. Thanks to all!
Best Regards
Jim

Anybody missing a white or beige knit glove?
