NW Chapter Eagle Float 1-21-2012

Post by Wavesport4 » Thu Dec 29, 2011 10:14 am

The NW Chapter is hosting their Eagle Float on the White River on January 21st, 2012. We will be meeting at OMTC at 8:45 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts and departing to the put in at the latest 9:30. This will give us a chance to consolidate shuttle vehicles and discuss logistics as well as free doughnuts! We will be putting in right below Beaver Dam and depending water levels and weather the take out will be determined. Please post if you will be attending or if you have any questions!

Sounds good to me! I'm in barring some calamity in schedules. Sounds like fun. With doughnuts.

Its on my calendar. Hope to see the proposed site of the white river play wave we have been discussing. Bring winter paddling gear to this one.

Anyone got a description of the water here? Expect WW conditions? General moving water? Cold is obvious.

I'm not familiar with it at all - just deciding which boat to bring. :geek:

It's a laid back stretch of the white.

If I can make it i plan on bringing the good ole buffalo as so's I can take advantage of one of the few benefits that a canoe has over the kayak.

Sounds like fun but I broke my collar bone on the slopes.....anyone feel like loading my canoe and my "electric" paddle?
Seriously maybe my wife will join me and steer.

Will this be a good float for a Ride 135 sit on top?

I'm in for sure, most likely Liz as well. Had a blast last year. I know that it was cold and snow was on the ground, but the float was great.

The weather outlook is positive at this time. Could be a great on the water. I have an ask of everyone who is coming. A U of A student is coming to this event to do some background filming and interview me specifically and anyone willing to comment on water recreation in the state. This is specific to water trail. It includes a camera but anyone not wanting to appear on camera will not have to. We will cover this at OMTC before taking off. Just wanted everyone to be informed before coming.
Thanks

Hey Kurt,

Do you know if OMTC will have loaner boats available this year?
