What's gonna run for New Years?

Post by gannon_w » Thu Dec 29, 2011 8:58 am

I know the Tot ran last year. Is it a thing that people find something to paddle on NYD? If so, what do you think will run? Is the dallas wave on...If nothing else I might head up there to keep the NYD paddling streak alive!

One of the Dallas boaters is coming here to boat, so I doubt it's running. Cadron is running, Rockport is running and a few other things. I think there's a group going to run Cadron on Saturday, but not sure on NY Day. No rain in the forecast so you have to take the left overs. If you can get up there, the St. Francis is still over 4'.

Hmmm. I'm down hear near Austin and trying to plan when I'm driving back and what might go. The St. Francis was fun.

What time are people meeting at the Cadron on Sunday? Cause I'm in. If anyone wants to carpool from the commuter lot at crystal hill(by the shell station) I can meet you there. I can fit two of those pesky kayaks next to my canoe. Plus it'd be nice to split the gas for my 'rover.

I'm in Hot Springs and I have been wanting to try the Cadron. I am somewhat of a newbie to whitewater, is it a good level to try? I have room in my 4-Runner to help with shuttleing. :D

Edgar, the level should be about early to mid 3's on the Cadron for Saturday. It's a pretty calm level, and the river is easily boat scouted. If you have decent boat control, you'll be fine.

The take-out bridge on Hwy 65. Right after you cross the creek, you turn right and follow the road down. I think there's a brown sign that says "Cadron Creek Access."
