If you had 10 days to find whitewater in Jan?

Post by razorback » Wed Dec 14, 2011 8:52 pm

Just a quick sample of where there may be reliable class III and class IV whitewater within a days ( 12 hour ) drive from Arkansas. TN?

I am wanting to take advantage of my time off from school Jan 1 - 10th. Looking to go to find real water class III to class IV. Anyone wanna go on a road trip?

Cheers.

I'm booked, but things seem to be running in eastern TN. Check Waldens Ridge WW page.

Go to the Tellico. It's watershed is incredibly long and it will run down to much lower than snotty locals will call the minimum. Nanty cascades is closeby, and if you're willing to drive three hours or so, you can most likely paddle everything in your comfort level and then some. I'd go with you if I could- gotta save up those paddling days.

North Alabama is real close! And as mgood says east Tennessee and don't forget north Georgia! Nice runs in Alabama SS and LRC are some of my favorites!
