Just a heads up, we still have several openings in our Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course that begins December 15th.
For more info, check out our website http://www.OzarkSAR.com and click on Wilderness First Responder in the event list.
The program will be held in partnership with Ozark Natural Science Center http://onsc.us/wfa/which offers a first class facility deep in Bear Hollow between Eureka Springs and Huntsvile AR.

Re: Wilderness First Responder program
Hey folks, I cannot recommend a WFR enough! My first course in First Aid was a WFR in 2005, where I took a week and a half of vacation from my office job. It was a fantastic experience. If you have taken a WFA or Advanced WFA, you understand that sometimes trying to understand everything feels like trying to drink from a firehose. The WFR has enough time for you to really absorb topics and experiment with things like splinting and patient exams that you don't have time to in a 2 or 4 day course.
*Disclosure - I do sometimes teach for Tom, although sadly, my holiday travel will keep me from being part of this course.

I think the WMI of NOLS people are great people, but sometimes they forget that they aren't the only people in the world who teach Wilderness First Aid.
Thanks,
