Karla:
Welch Springs to Pulltite on the Current River for Sunday. It's 13 miles, nearly constant flow, but a long shuttle. Probably 5 - 6 hours on the river.

Karla, I may float Jack's Fork from Alley Spring to Circle B Saturday. The takeout is at the campground. It's a short, easy float. Mikki & I did it back in July. It is probably the easiest of the floats we will do. Seems like it only took us about 3-4 hours. Very easy put in and take outs.

Is anyone fishing on these trips? Missouri non resident fishing license is $42 and can be gotten from many stores or over the internet printing out your own license.

Great time on the current river with Louis and gang. Nice meeting some new folks we never met before. Great paddling with you guys. The Current River is beautiful and the clearest water I have seen in the area of Arkansas and Missouri. Took pics, will post some later. We paddled just on Sunday, had to be back later Monday.

Louis,
Ditto from Marlo and myself too! We thoroughly enjoyed seeing some new country, the very nice floating day with you all on the Current, and
getting to visit with you and the others in the party!
Louis, the Circle B campground was indeed very nice and a good choice by you. The camp is spacious and has good road and river access. I was also pleased with the RV potential maybe on a future trip. The lady owner was also very pleasant. Marlo and I payed for three night's lodging, however as we departed a day early to explore other regions I didn't expect a refund for the one night, I was pleasantly surprised when she did so without us asking as we were leaving. Very nice!
When Marlo and I headed out, we stopped by to see the Alley Spring & Mill, that, and the rest of our limited wanderings just make us want to explore more next time. Further West on our travels toward Springfield, we also crossed the Gasconade and Big Piney rivers and had a quick look, they also look like good potential.
Later on Monday we arrived at Big Cedar Lodge at Ridgedale, Mo. for the evening. As I sat relaxing that evening, I told Marlo I hoped you all had another good day on your Eleven Point section and how much I enjoyed the trip in general. Thank you again!
Best Regards
Jim

Louis-thanks for getting the trip together. I had a great time and enjoyed meeting some new people. Loved watching your new trick on the reverse in the canoe ! Wish the weather had been better onTue. but it was good for me to get home-I am still recovering! Looking forward to next year already.-Ann

Re: CURRENT & JACKS FORK OCT 16 - 20
Thanks for the great comments Phil, Gary & Karla, Jim & Marlo, Ann.
These trips just keep getting better and better. After having 12 boats and paddlers on the Current Sunday we had 11 boats, 15 paddlers on the Eleven Point Monday. Jack land and I paddled Jacks Fork late Tuesday after the rain quit and temps made it to 50; Wednesday we hiked in 46 degree, 20 - 30 mph north winds. Over 20 actually were thereover all.
A great majority liked the Eleven Point best: it's got tighter turns, takes more boat control, better eddies, 2 - 3 easy surfing waves, more remote and rugged, but also has the longest pools. Jack's Fork was SUPERB, a cool late evening trip, fall air and leaves blowing, I just love it. And we all had fun on the Current.
I now have a dilemma about going back to Eminence in May to paddle the headwaters versus an annual May Buffalo trip. THANKS TO ALL WHO WENT AND MADE IT SUCH A FANTASTIC TRIP!! The Blue Spring below pumps 80 million gallons of water a day into the Current River, is over 300 feet deep.

Two Rivers confluence of Jack's Fork (on left above sandbar) and the Current, plus the highlight of the hike to Rocky Falls.
