Cowper, that is very insightful stuff! You are exactly right about it being more philosophy/psychology that anything else. I have read your post several times-thanks. Surely someone here in the area has an RPM, and will let me try it out when/if something runs. Or maybe I'll head down to TG's livery and see if I can demo some boats at San Marcos prior to this trip. If not, I like your counsel of the Mamba-paddle something I know I CAN paddle, that will do the job.

Max-I have paddled the Mamba on the Nantahala, and the Upper Green, and it did seem like a really good boat. That is exciting you just got one!!
