Rockport Water Times for Rendevous

Post by FarPastGone » Sun Sep 11, 2011 11:56 pm

Is Rockport going to be running on Friday and Sunday? What is the time frame for water on Saturday, and the other days if it is releasing on them. I am sure this has been posted for the last three months in the stickies, but I slacked on reading them.

Thanks!
- Matt

Here's an excerpt from the latest Entergy email:

"On Thursday and Friday, September 15 and 16, Carpenter and Remmel will be releasing about 3,600 CFS from about 3 to 8 PM with Blakely running to 9 PM.

On Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18, Carpenter and Remmel will be releasing about 3,600 CFS from about 8 AM to 3 PM."

Here is a link to the release schedule from Entergy.

It seems to be taking a little longer this year for the water to get to full flow.Water shows up 2.5 hours after the release begins and you can definantly get in your boat and start playing at around 3 hours. But it is taking 3.5+ hours to get to what most would call "Full Flow". Which is full enough to throw down at full speed.

Also the ledge is in pretty darn good playable form. Much better than it was at the beginning of the season. I think someone cleaned out all the rocks that had fallen off the shelf and into the hole. The usual cartwheel hole is its usual fun self and river left has a fun wave (no more chewy pit). Some loops and cartwheels are being thrown over there and you can surf all the way from the man made island eddy to river left bank and back.

This past Saturday and Sunday were as much fun as I have had all summer down there.

So come on out for Rendezvous and get your surf on!
