EXACTLY, where is this event to be held on the ARK River?

The event will be held on the Arkansas River under the Junction Bridge running between Little Rock & North Little Rock.

Larry,

For folks coming from out of town and not familiar with the names of the six bridges in the downtown area, more specific directions may be useful. I looked on a view of the area on Google Earth but none of the spans were named. Is the Junction bridge the one by the Clinton Library?

Tim,

I know the Rowing and Sailing Exhibition Larry mentioned sounds very interesting and fun for sure! I've tried to become a little less of a dufuss
navigating Little Rock in the last several years but the names of the various bridges that cross the Arkansas River in the downtown area have never really soaked in for me, other than the interstate 30 bridge... Marlo and I came to the happy understanding many years ago that when we traveled to Little Rock, she would do the driving and navigation, and when we were traveling around Hot Springs, I would do so :D
After doing some further research, the Junction Bridge would be the one just upstream from the interstate 30 bridge. Maybe the most convenient viewing area for the race might be on the North Little Rock side, but I'm just not familiar enough with either side of the bridge. I do understand though that the Junction bridge is an old railway bridge that is now a pedestrian bridge, so watching from the bridge itself might even be the best.
Additionally, I learned that the six downtown bridges, names from West to East, or upstream to downstream, are Baring Cross Bridge, Broadway Bridge, Main Street Bridge, Junction Bridge, Interstate 30 Bridge, and Rock Island Bridge.

Best Regards
Jim

Thanks Jim.
I didn't realize this particular bridge even had a name.
I'm trying to provide the REC dept with info on these types of events in hopes to spark more paddling interest on campus. Many changes since you left... a lot of new faces.
Thanks again.

Jim, Thanks for posting the location... I've been away from my computer. This event is intended to focus attention on the river, on rowing and sailing, and on the bridge itself. Personally, for me there are few prettier sights than a rowing shell sliding across smooth, reflecting water. We'll see how still the river is that day! Crane
