Thanks very much Karl! Marlo and I hated not being able to attend, I think I've been to every one since the club has hosted them.
Marlo and I will probably sit out this weekends floating opportunities as well. We're back in the pink again but my brother and family are due in from Georgia on Monday so Miss Marlo and I are trying to get a few things done around here in preperation. I think this will make a solid month we've been off the river...
I do plan to take my brother& family floating on Tuesday, I just hate that the weekday water release isn't until 3pm. I guess we'll just float the min. flow and be thankful to be wet.
Best Regards
Jim

Thanks for answering that question. I was wondering if it was floatable when they weren't generating.

It is always good at regular flows, but even the minimum flow wasn't too terrible earlier this year on the scorching 89degree day when we floated it, just paddle it in single-paddler boats, not in a canoe built for two
When we did float at the minimum level, saddly there isn't the option of running the Ledge in good form at the end. It was only the second time I ever portaged the Ledge, the first time being some twenty five years ago when they still operated the releases as they do the Little Missouri at Murfreesboro presently, and it was either on or off. I must commend Entergy Co. on the Ouachita, and the C.O.E. on the Lower Caddo, for the minimum releases now-days for the health of the fish and river eco-system!!
Best Regards

Thanks so much Wally! I'll visit with you more as Tuesday draws closer and I see what the plan is. I so wish Bill could come earlier in the year when the Upper Caddo was running but he does have a young family with kids in school, etc,etc and I do wish it wasn't as hot and dry here now as the face of the sun...

I am very thankful the Ouachita is running some, I don't know that I can hold them off for a 3pm launch to be able to enjoy the release though, I think I'll drop Marlo's car off at the Ledge around noon then go put us all in for a paddle down soon after. Do join us if you can, I'd love for Bill to meet you!
Best Regards
Jim
