What would happen if someone proposed this on the Buffalo?

Re: And we thought cement in Richland was bad....
The Cement thing didn't bother me at all, cement is made out of Sand, gravel, and Lime same stuff that is inside the river. Also the people who put it in the river did it out of Love for fellow man. They didn't do it to ruin the river.
This thing they are talking about seems weird. I'm not understanding the function of what they are doing?? The Cement was to prevent someone getting seriously hurt. What they want to do to the river, I have no idea what it is??
My Question is What the Hell are they talking about doing??

It's called art. If you don't understand it, you are in the majority.
These two handsome folks wrap beautiful things in fabric in order to improve on nature.
So far they have done Islands
and improved on a valley by hanging a curtain across it.
Hmmmmmm.........
Me thinks the King has no clothes........

Check out this site. This is what was left over from his last project. I-beams, rusted metal and concrete laying all over the place.
Granted the Ark does have its issues with rusted pipeline, railroad tracks, etc. but why add to that. They will most likely have to drill holes into the rocks and put the poles up, to hold the fabric. Do you think those anchors will be completly removed from the rocks after the project is over? I highly doubt it. What happens when a huge gust of wind comes and tears the fabric to shreds, who is picking it up?
This fabric thing is a fetish for this old man, once he shows it to everyone, he's done with it.

I couldn't bring myself to read more than about 3 pages of that topic. Wow, I didn't realize how well managed the ACC board actually is. Big thanks to all the administrators who make this board what it is, and a big thanks to all the members of our organization who refrain from pointless trash talk and insults.

Yes, I edited what I thought might have been inappropriate. Trash talk and insults though? Nobody is trash talking or insulting, just stating the facts of the situation.

Nah, Justin, I am not saying that you or any of the ACC guys I associate with trash talk, I was just very disheartened by the use of language I saw on the other board. I do not want to get up on a pedestal here, but I gotta say I am proud to be involved with such a fine group of people as the ACC. I don't wish to start any arguments here, that is why I haven't expressed an opinion on the art in question here. How I feel about the artist or his work makes no difference, and will have very little or no influence on how the planned exhibition goes.
Actually, I just thought about one instance of ACC trash talk, check it out:http://forums.arkansascanoeclub.com/vie ... =1&t=19189

I'm into all kinds of conceptual and abstract art (I expect people to treat my toilet as a work of art ala Duchamp...) but nothing should ever be made uglier in order to make it more beautiful and permanent alterations of a landscape with concrete and steel are pretty f'ing ugly.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I think i saw this before in NY. I think all this guy needs is a good ole country clothes line to make him happy.
If that crap is art work, I have 4 little artist in my back yard making masterpieces out of my trash. My Raccoons even have trash hanging in the trees. I can tell that it will be the people that don’t like the trash art work will have to pick it up when the raccoons are done.

Interesting article
I found this short article concerning the artist's work, and thought it was interesting enough to share.
