Water Trails in the News!

Post by DeBo » Fri Jul 15, 2011 9:56 am

Here is the latest article about water trails in Arkansas with some quotes by yours truly. I am looking forward to a great season of swamp paddling this Fall!

The link that I put up was released prematurely. It has been taken down for editing. I will put it up again when the story has REALLY been released.

Here it is:

Will it be in the state paper in the morning?

I found a neat place on Catherine if you are doing the GPS thing at Rendezvous again.

Here is the correct link: http://arkansasmediaroom.com/news-relea ... px?id=1825" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Unfortunately I have a conflict on Saturday at Rendezvous. If there is enough interest I could do it on Sunday morning.

Is this a good time to go on the Wattensaw, DeBo? Or should we wait until October?

It is pretty hot right now, but you can paddle Wattensaw if you get out early. I have been making some midweek trips but it's good to get off the water before noon.

I have volunteers ready to go to work on the campsite and I think we will be able to begin by mid September.

We'll look forward to this fall, when it's cooler and we hope to do the entire 7.8 miles with a campout overnight. The shuttle along CR 705 looks to be straightforward. Thanks for all your work.

I haven't been on a swamp since april, and am very much ready for fall to get here. Also, Debbie, next time I see you, be sure to bug me about helping out on the campsite, you know I'm game.
