Jon, I will bring an extra paddle but I don't have another PFD. Let me know if this is OK. Was that you in the raft pictures with Cowper at the suck hole on the ledge?

PS And this message is for Cowper, I DO NOT plan to "INTENTIONALLY" aim any boat I am riding in into the "meat" of that hole in the name of humor

Yeah, that was me, Mikki. My days are always a little more interesting when Cowper is involved. I haven't run Remmel to Rockport since Rendezvous of 07, which is a little sad, now that I come to think of it. I am looking forward to tomorrow, and don't worry about the PFD, Cowper will have an extra one since I left my main one at Lake Beaver Fork a while back.

Well, it turns out it WASN'T the fuel pump. It's the timing belt (OUCH $$$ ). Bigger job than I can handle. Looks like Mon. will be out for us. Unless someone has room for some (3) freeloaders on their raft Mon.? I got people transport but no boat transport.

Not how I planned to spend my long weekend.

Just wanted to say thanks for being so nice.I enjoyed it , and I didnt even get in the water! Hopefully I can repay it.

Also wanted let you know, the two girls (prodigy/pursuit) that took off from the rest were not snobs, but very fair complexioned and in fear of being sunburned.

Mikki,

I think Marlo and I, and maybe Gary, will be heading to the Ledge to make the float tomorrow, Sunday. However we won't plan to be to the boat ramp until about noon. If you would care to join us, I know we could use a mutual shuttle. Others also welcome.

Best Regards
Jim

Well, apparently this summer is the season for injuries in my house. We were seriously contemplating a Monday float, but Noah accidentally did a chin-dive off his land shark last night. Chin gash and shoulder road rash...not fun. :( Hope you all have an enjoyable and safe float. We'll be back on the water just as soon as possible, I'm sure.

Sandy, sorry to hear about Noah. Timothy and I are planning on going Monday. I did it on Saturday and going down as the water is rising is a lot more fun. If anybody needs to borrow a boat I have an extra rec boat and paddle.

Edgar,

What type rec. boat is it? Would I fit in it? Hannah and Felicia are gonna tube it. I can jury rig one boat on the wife's car but if I could borrow one it would be better.

Thanks again Jim for shuttling the group back up. The timing was good and I agree with Cliff, thank God. It was good to see everybody even if it was just for a minute or two. :D

Marlo and I had a good float yesterday! I think this was the first time though I can remember getting down to the gravel bar just above the Ledge only to realize the water still had another foot and a half to rise to it's normal level.
The real highlight, event, was the storm that blew-up about the time we all hit the take-out. Everyone had just about enough time to drag boats up on the bank good then run up to the pavilion. Man did it storm, lightning, raining pitchforks, and wind blowing the rain straight through the pavilion from one end to the other
To borrow an expression from John Muir, "It was a big feast day"!
Good to see everyone.

Best Regards
Jim

Big thanks to Edgar for the loaner yak :!: Clan Crawford had a great time. :D Great to float with Clif and his boys plus their neice/cousin Mehgan (sp?). Timing was indeed good. Mother Nature put on a truly awesome display for those of us taking shelter in the pavillion. Lightening, thunder, wind and rain. We were picking lines and contemplating first descents on a couple of the drainage ditches by the pavillion. Never been so cold on July 4 in AR in my life. :o Temps fell into upper 60's with probably 30 mph sustained wind and all of us soaking wet. Can you say Brrrrrr :?: Actually ran the heater in the car briefly. If we don't see you before then hope to see everyone at Surf'N'Turf.
