The Buffalo National River Partners, in cooperation with the National Park Service and the Great American Cleanup, has rescheduled the Erbie to Pruitt clean up for Sunday, June 12.
Volunteers interested in helping maintain the natural beauty of the nation's first national river by picking up trash and clearing debris along its banks--while enjoying a scenic float--can sign up and join with participating groups, including Arkansas Master Naturalists, Ozark Society, Sierra Club, and Arkansas Canoe Club, for a day of floating and fun.
For further information, please contact Aletha Petty at (870)743-2639 daytime or at (870)446-2684 evenings, or Laura Timby at 870-439-2968. Check BNRP website, www. BNRPartners.org for updates.
Meet at Pruitt Landing at 9 a.m.

We are going to have to change the trip to Pruitt to Hasty-- the water is getting lower all the time. BRC is helping to shuttle and giving us boats. Re: BNRP Buffalo River Clean up (Sunday June 12, 2011)
Dang it - I'll be on the road for an out-of-state vacation by Sunday (or frantically still packing and running late...)
My love of moving water began many decades ago on a riffle under the Pruitt bridge (although it was quite the "rapid" at that time), so I really hate missing this clean up.
If anyone in your group has a GPS, please have them get the coordinates of any "special needs" items that you see but can't carry out. I'll try to do "pennance" for missing the official clean up by going back for something later this summer, even if the levels are too low for normal floating.
