Little Mo releases from Narrows Dam?
Can someone please provide a link to SWEPCO's site that provides generation schedules for the little Mo at Murfreesboro?
Thanks
Jeff

Here ya go:

I think it's 8 megawatts per generator so 24 means three generators are running. My paddling notes indicate that I like two generators better than three for the surf spots but YMMV.

I can't seem to find SWEPCO's release schedule for the current week.
Someone said it may run this Saturday and I'd like to confirm that, or not.
Thanks
Jim

For some reason only next week's releases are on their website currently, but looking at the chart earlier this week I believe this Saturday and Sunday the release was supposed to start at 5pm and go until 8pm for both days.
Re: Little Mo releases from Narrows Dam?
1-7:P.M. the rest of this week. 5-8:P.M. for the weekend. All 3 units.
The lake had been several feet into flood pool so they had been releasing 3 units 24/7 for a few weeks with possibility of even opening the bunger valves too, but never did. Water had been alot warmer than usual. I'm guessing that it is that the majority of the water was runoff and hadn't been cooled in the depths of the lake yet. Wondering if the warmer water will/did hurt the trout.

What is the river like below the dam? Class? Anyways I would be down to try it out on Sunday if anyone needs someone to run it with. 870-404-9471.
Re: Little Mo releases from Narrows Dam?
Class II Mainly standing waves no real drops to speak of. Only danger worth mentioning is that most all of the river is moving along pretty fast. The majority of bank line has trees and is kinda steep with water flowing through the trees. Good float to introduce newbie's to as long as they can steer their boat fairly well to keep away from bank trees. Take out can be a bit tricky. Although it is pretty large, there is a must make eddy at the bridge. Miss it and they will have a short hike back to the bridge.
Do note that actual generation starts an hour earlier than what the schedule shows. They measure/schedule mega watts generated per hour so...it takes an hour of generation for 3 units to generate 24 mw.

I am trying to decide where to head this weekend. is anyone gonna run this section on Sunday. If so i would love to tag along and could even do a shuttle. Pm or call me. 870-404-9471.

Most are going to be at Dierks. The Saline is a good float if you want to that. There are some strainers close to take out and a low water bridge that must be portaged.

Here is a link to the American Whitewater page that has information about the Little Missouri below the Narrows Dam:

Looks like the release starts at 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, perfect for tending to Honey-do stuff early in the day and slipping out for play later.
