Boating Sunday Ponca @ 9ft
Hoping the Hailstone goes again. I'm in Springfield, MO heading that way so hopefully there will be someone else around. A float from Boxley would be good also if there isn't enough water for the stone...

Re: Boating Sunday?
Did you do the Hailstone earlier this season, P7? After you sold your boat, what did you end up buying? This is cpresoz from the Backpacking site, where we discussed Atkins Creek. I bought a Pyranha Karnali and working on getting it outfitted and the Hailstone is definitely my dream. Good luck floating it.

Make some knee blocks and get some float bags and I'll be ready. The Ammo was one I was looking at too.

I just got home from an afternoon Richland run and drove thru a tornado down there. It was raining as hard as I have ever seen from hwy 16 all the way to Jasper. You should be able to get on any creek u desire in Newton county tomorrow morning.

Re: Boating Sunday?
Hey Justin, we ended up with more water than we needed! Not a thing to boat within our limits. Three of us finally got on the river after a day full of bad luck. It was a 20 minute run from Boxley to Ponca at 9 ft.
starting at 6pm. We decided against the Hailstone since it was at 6ft but with a lot more rain on the way.
Here's the Ponca bridge when we pulled off...it's a little blurry from the low light, but you get the idea. Thanx Josh & Scott...& Scott...especially helping with the flat!
