UPDATED COLLECTION OF PHOTOS FROM HOT SPRINGS CREEK

Post by CAPTAIN ALEVE » Sat Apr 16, 2011 3:24 pm

A lot of shots were missing from my original post on my first run down Hot Springs Creek in 2001 with Bob Stout. This urban creek offers two miles of brush-free Class II-II+ fun that is a step up from the Caddo and the Cadron. Much maneuvering is required as you wiggle through a maze created by outcrops of solid rock. There's enough water for a run when the water is at the level of the bottom edge of the TOP surface of the rock apron on the downstream right side of the pedestrian bridge across from the parking lot on Shady Grove Road. The run is two miles long and ends just upstream of the 270 Bypass. Television Hill Road goes right down to the water's edge, but you may need 4WD for the last bit of it.
