For paddlers interested in paddling Dragover tomorrow with us, we will meet at the campground at 11:00 a.m. Water is low  but floateable.

Are you going to float it just once?
I may show up.. I bought a new boat today but I don't have a spray deck for it... I could bring my pamlico or the new playboat.

We will only be floating it once. I'm sorry but can only tell you the water will be low and slow. You might prefer your Pamlico. Perhaps Jim can offer some better advice in the morning. See you there.

Im planning on float fishing dragover sunday but I've never been there. Is this level going to be a canoe hike, or just pick your lines carefully kind of level? Im also taking my six yr old. Any good swimming holes and gravel bars along the way?
thanks

Jeremy,
Water at this level is more pick your lines carefully. There are plenty of gravel bars and swimming holes. I've never had a stellar day fishing this stretch, but caught my first Walleye and several others on it. Smallmouth are there a plenty. Good luck.

Sorry your alarm clock wasn't working EMTyak; it was a beautiful day to be on the water, but the fish weren't biting. Jim caught 4 or 5 small smallmouth, but I just caught 2 warmouth. Between the lack of current in the pools and a strong head wind, it was a heck of a day for paddling. Scraped a couple of times, but didn't have to get out and drag at all. We saw buzzards everywhere, but no hawks or eagles. One hen turkey strutted her stuff into a field as we were leaving. :D Running from a hunter probably. Jim saw a snake or two on the road, but that was about it. We put on about 11 and took out about 4. It was a great day to be out!
