Man, I went out on monday to scout a section for trash as the annual west fork cleanup is coming up in May. It was a last minute deal so I did not holler at anyone, but just went instead.

I went from woolsey to the Riverside Park in West Fork. It was about 5 or so feet and slightly scrapey down the overwide parts of the stretch.

I saw mostly just trash from the highway and storm drains like plastic bottles, beer bottles, cans and such. One pretty bad illegal dump/burn spot. Other than that it wasn't too bad. Beat the heck out of working.

I then got to ride my bike back to the ride and after only 4 miles and 10 minutes I realized that I was outta shape! but back at the car.

What section did you do? How did the trash situation look?

I went yesterday with nate and I didn't notice much trash. I did see a few tires half buried in the dirt but couldn't put them in my kayak :? :

Thanks for the reports. yeah those tires be hard to carry on the kayak.

i'll be sure to holler next time and keep posted about the WF cleanup.

There's a river access spot down there on that stretch that's bout a mile from the park that some locals refer to as "the doosh" , needless to say it does get a lot of trash dumped there since it is directly connected to the HWY 71.

Last year someone found an illegal dump spot that had 30 tires  down just by Baptist Ford. 30 tires.
