Snow Totals?

Post by ebell » Wed Feb 09, 2011 8:55 am

I live near Aurora in Madison County and we have 11 inches as of 9 am.

I have a family member that lives on Whorton Creek near Kingston and they have 18 inches.

5+ inches in Cabot as of 1PM and still coming down.

Susan said 2 feet at Monte Ne.

Was interesting ride back to Cabot from Baptist Hospital at 10AM this morning after "watching" Susan's dad all night (his first night out of ICU, and he was VERY loopy from Meds, enough so that they called me at 11:45PM last night to come NOW. I took the nursing staffs on both floors, ICU South and 5th floor a cheesecake I bought yesterday on way home).

2005 Pathfinder with New Michelin M/S II's did great, almost like there wasn't any snow. 200 other cars out there on way through Little Rock, Jacksonville and Cabot would disagree I think. Several ramps and hills where no one was going forward, except me (carefully!), many cars off to sides. Did 45 when no one was around, 25-35 to zero when cars in front.

Near 60 by Sunday. Might melt fast enough this weekend for a run somewhere. That's probably 2+ inches of rain in that white stuff...

Just out on the talk radio, Tulsa just set a new seasonal snow fall record. Old record set in winter of 1923 - 24. New record is 26 total inches of snow. Most of it which fell from last tuesday thru this mid day.
