Resupply should not be necessary but it is good to know ahead of time what and where resources are before you leave.

I still have a stash of food left over from my trip. The trip was valuable to me on many levels. Again, I don't think I could have had a better mentor and companion for this trip.

Do not take or rely on an ice chest. It is more of a liability than an asset. It is heavy, bulky and must be replinished with ice. I found that sourdough bread, apples and yogurt do very well without refrigeration on a week long trip. Do keep them out of the sun and close to the bottom of the canoe so they benefit from the cooler temps.
When I went to MI/WI this summer, I took an ice chest and soon found it simply was not practical. I am getting ready to spend a month on the road and my ice chest will not be going with me.
We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.
