what is the staple class 5 run in arkansas. can this said run be done in conjunction with other good runs on big rain events ? thanks for any positive beta

Arkansas doesn't really have what I'd call "staple" runs. When it rains, the class 4-5 is wherever you can find it - where it rained super hard on a steep creek and you can get to it very quick. Saying that that doesn't happen often is an understatement.

Most of what I'd consider the (few) class 5 runs are tough to combo in one day with something else. Most of the time, levels are dropping out fast, and the logistics involved takes long enough that there's not much time to drive, set another shuttle, etc. However, most of the steep creeks dump out into bigger streams that are more like big water runs when the steeps are running. So, you often get more bang for your buck by the time you see your truck.

For beta on many of the runs, go to http://www.ozarkpages.com/cgi-bin/stage ... ating_sort" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and scroll down. Some of those runs (like Boen Gulf, Boss Hollow, etc.) are very choked with trees from the recent ice storm, currently closed for business. You probably want to ask here about specific runs if you're interested in them to see if anyone has cleared them out. Or feel free to clear them out and let us know.

For true AR class 5, try to catch the class 4 runs with quite a bit of water. Hopefully you will be able to do that soon, and some of us will come out and join you for a run.
