Miss 'em

Post by Clif » Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:27 am

Seems like by now we are at least planning our first overnighters on the Buffy. Be tough with levels as they are. A word of thanks to those that usually put them together and we miss yall.

I made my first run last year on March 7th, Clif. I believe you were there. ?? Baker Ford to Grinder's Ferry. What a great time! I'm readyto go real soon. First warm day, I'm headed to Buffalo Point. It's been a too long dry spell. I was hoping the Weidower situation would be resolved by now. I'm ready to do the Hwy 65 trash pick-up, and we need a place to float!

If yall will please do just this simple thing, we can float the Buffalo.
Open all windows including house and vehicles. Then get far enough away so when it rains you will not be able to close them before the inside is totally soaked.

It has been over six months since the Buffalo has been what I consider to be floatable. Desperate times call for desparate measures.

When my grandpappy needed water on his crops, he would go that Sunday and pay his tithing to the preacher and it usually would rain within two days... now, being I'm a heathen from Texas and really don't have a preacher on hand, I'm thinking Richard - if you wore your coonskin hat and I got my dowsing rod out and we did a Hopi Rain dance... we might get some rain, what do you think? Of course, the more dancers we had, the more rain we could get... now if all of the club joined in on this one dance in the light of the full moon.. we just might get a bit of flood too.

Richard, I thought about all yall this past weekend. It rained here all day Sat and Sun. I was hoping it would make it up that way. I was gettin' down right depressed, hadn't seen the sun in days. It finally cleared yesterday afternoon, and I was taken completely by surprise seeing a huge full moon in the sky as I drove home from work.

The moon is what probly brought this to mind. Richard tried to get an outing with as much moon as possible. Got me all nostalgic. Hopefully soon.

I give up! I am bored. No rain . . . no river.
Haven't been on the Buffalo in six months.
If it doesn't rain soon I may have to resort to doing something like this . . .

or this

Hey, it's "propel" when I'm into my second bottle of wine. Other times, that's "people".
