Yeah, my question is why?

Are you getting the 2011 Hero?

I will vouch for the boat's ability to get out of holes. Surfed out of Triple Drop on the Yough by itself with Randy just holding his breath. ;-)

Ryan, at least a couple of reasons.

1) Doing all of you guys a favor, 'cuz I know as soon as it sells, the floods will come and I'll be wishing I still had it for full-on creeking.
2) Need some cash.

I have NO reservations or problems with the boat. Loved it so far, esp. the hull speed. Temporary move...expect I'll get another one later.

RJ, I am hoping your next boat is a new hero, just so we can find out how the modifications changed the original hero's performance.

Hey Randy-
I've heard everyone's comparisons of the villain to the rocker, what is your feel on it. You and I both paddled our heros down cheeoah and I remember we both had similar opinions of our boats so would love your knowledge on the boat. Also reason for asking is I paddled a rocker in Chile and loved the way it handled and performed overall. (might I add with much silly criticism..ha, but hey to each their own, different strokes) SO with all said I am interested in your villain but just had to ask first. Thanks bud!

Well, I've not paddled a Rocker, so can't compare to that, but I had a blast in the Villain on the Gauley and Yough. It has very good hull speed, keeps a line, punches holes (yeah, if you're driving and not drifting ;-). Solid and predictable. Not surprisingly, it doesn't spin like the Hero, since it's not a full planing hull, but it will turn quick when you get it up on edge. Gallon-wise, it sounded really big to/for me, but like others have noted, it doesn't feel as big as it sounds, if that makes any sense.

I wanted - and still do - a full-on creeker for the rare times where that's needed around here, but as much or more for bona fide creeking on road trips. All indications are the Villain will be great for that. If somebody will make it rain around here, we can get some confirmation.

Hope that helps.
