I'm curious as to know why you don't float the White River here at the White River NWR, St. Charles say from Crocket's Bluff down to the Boat Ramp in St. Charles? you aren't hunting so, there aren't any permits needed except for the NWR one. I was down at the river this afternoon and it was rolling with the extra bit of water it got from the snow.. looked like it was doing around 3mph.

No "real" reason other than just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Driving through Crocket's Bluff, I didn't see any public accesses. But I could have missed one, or you, being more of a "local", might have good luck in getting someone to allow access via their boat dock.
We have done some exploring in the back channels to the North and East of there. My own preference is for the smaller backwater channels; I seem to have many more "up close" encounters with wildlife when I'm "in the bush", vs. more "distant flyovers" when I'm out on the main river.
