There is a huge trackloader on the south side of the slide and a bunch of rocks hauled in. Looks like they are planning on going above the slide, YEAH!!!!! dale

Bout time! I need the road open since I drive up from the south, sure will be nice to have that road open again! Now for some rain! SYOTR!

I wonder if they'll reopen the campground after the road work is complete.

Dale and DanMo, thanks for the field reports and updates! I was just about to call the Forest Service to see if I could learn something worthy of sharing.

Yes, I believe they fully intend to reopen the campground. The reason given for the closure was that the landslide dramatically increased the distance the maintenance folks, rangers, etc. had to drive to get there; they couldn't afford the time and $ to visit it as often as needed.
