IS anything FLOWING?

Post by gannon_w » Mon Dec 27, 2010 2:28 pm

Just asking. I see eddyflower said a few were cranking here and in TN? I have a timeshare in Branson I'm thinking of going to if nothing is running...Or I might go stay there and explore what might be scrapable up there.

Please baby new years bring me some mank :) Wait it's still Kwanzaa!! Please Karenga make the rivers flow...I promise I am friends with the one and only black kayaker (Jason) I know!!

Let's hope the rain on Wed night does something good for the creeks in AR! It has been way too long since we got to run anything in state...

The odds are growing in our favor more every day that we go without

Beaver lake has some current in it when they are letting out water from Beaver dam. And even when they are not letting it out, the wind can make it seem like it has current. We have paddled in winds of 35MPH, with gusts up to 50 MPH. Pretty paddles when nothing else if flowing and interesting when it is down like it is now. Another few weeks of no rain and the cove here at Monte Ne will be dry again and the ampitheater will come back out of the water. Never seen it yet where the old bridges were exposed, so I guess I have something to look forward to. Rail Road Cut in the islands out by Horseshoe Bend may start getting boney soon at the rate it is falling..

The weekday paddleing group I sometimes float with is planning on a trip on the White River, Below Beaver Dam, from the town of Beaver 10AM Thursday if anyone wants to come. Supposed to be windy. Bring a lunch and a thermos of something to drink. We generally paddle up stream, stop to eat, and then float back to the town of Beaver, but have floated down to Tablerock lake for variety. Leave early to get there, as this group tend to leave on time.

From my experience here in the Natural State this is the best device for telling if anything is running

Take note of second rule, it is significant.

It's raining yeah! 970-817-1639 Gimmie a call. I see alot of creeks at 40-50 CFS...which I assume is too low. My low water record is the upper narrows on the poudre at 31 CFS :) so I am down for the desperate runs just to get out of the house...Oyeah I am off from school so I am free everyday all day with a 4x4!

You must like hiking with your boat. Seriously tho, you might be able to scrape something tomorrow if it keeps raining.

looked like johnson and pope county got a little primer also. One thing that is awesome about the the scull crusher is that it does not take as much rain as some other places to come up.

My creek and wave is in!!! Sorry to be excited but I've been jonesin!

I have a small creek with about 30-40 cfs right now and a play wave thats in. I am getting geared up. If any weekday boaters are also jonesin feel free to join me. I live at 18 stonebridge circle in LR. You will drive over the creek as it crosses Chenonceau blvd. look upstream about 100 yds. will be playing just around the corner. The creek is real narrow but plenty of water! Come join. I'll only have my cell phone for the next few mins then I'm on the creek YIPEEEE :)
