So I disagree whole heartedly with the entire premise of requiring names at registration. This is the Internet, and anonymity is a part of it.
Now if this forum were to become a private group, only open to folks who were registered and paid members of the ACC, I might feel a bit differently, but as it stands the fact that anyone who wants can join and post is one of the things that make this board so great in my opinion.
All that said, my information is not hard to find if'n you look.

I am Capntom...
That being said...I try to always introduce myself with my "proper name" on the river. Most people respond with "oh, are you CapnTom on the message board?" My last-name is Schietzelt. To which many respond "huh?". Much easier this way.

I think that people opposed to pseudonyms on the message board are probably just lazy and unwilling to do the work involved in determining the correlations.

Mr Owl,
You are correct. I am lazy and guilty of the sin of sloth. I am unwilling to research to determine the author of what most of the time is extreamly trivial comments. I would hope this if your name is embedded somewhere in your profile that it could just just as well be out front or in your signature line. And by the way, if I know you you can introduce yourself as "Mr Owl" sometime and you can set me straight in person. Heck, perhaps you already have and I just don't know it since I have no idea who you are.

thanks by the way for all of those newsletters! And thanks again for posting on the website. Where you been hiding?
Gordon - it was nice to paddle with you and marcell down at the tot a couple of years ago. I'll bet I could give you my name.......and you would't remember who I was. Oh wait, maybe you would anyway because I am a jack@$$ from time to time.
Happy New Year!

Half Ton- There is no way Gordon could remember your face or identity to your username from boating with you on the Tot a few years ago. You have switched names three times at least since then! Who is this "half-ton" mystery man? We'll never know.

gordon kumpuris
if that even is your real name. seems like a likely alias. very common. almost like steven smith.
or is it the name you tell people after a swim on lower richland?
i have always used my real name, but don't care either way. its sometimes fun to put a face to that odd name on the board.

Thoroughly love the funny posts but seriously really I have no idea who the three previous posters are and Yes I am too lazy and dim witted and have lost too many brain cells over the years to try to recall figure it out unless I am spoon fed the information. Sure would like to know who this half ton and spanke guy is. On second thought who's to say either are guys. Maybe they are girls? Guessing that if Half Ton is a girl she's from Texas.
