a great garage sale find

Post by mohawklady » Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:55 am

I went garage saling Friday and saw some ponchos, rain gear and outdoor stuff hanging on a fence. I got the poncho, and when I went to pay for it I got to talking to the lady about needing it canoeing. She said "did you see the canoe out there?" Now I know I am getting older and not seeing as well as I use too, so I said no. She said it right out by the fence by the raingear. I went back out and looked and sure enough there was a"rubber boat with a paddle in a plain cardboard box. I didn't pull it out to realy see what is was, she said she wanted $20.00 for it but not knowing if it leaded or anything I got it for$10.00. She said she won it at a raffle and never used it. Well, when I got it home and pulled it out the box I saw tht it was a SEVYLOR TAHITI, which according to the website is a hunting/fishing kayak that retails for $150.00. I guess the garage saling Gods were smiling on my that day. And we blew it up and it doesn't leak!!! It will be a great boat to leisurely float the buffalo on during the summer. Pam

Here's my recent finds:
Oklahoma Joe seriously real smoker: retails for $700, mine for $125 barely used.
5-person tent, used once; retails for around $80, mine for $11.25

Last spring scored a kayak, helmet, skirt for $ 200, now being used by Gordon's daughter.
