leaves

Post by Clif » Thu Nov 04, 2010 7:54 pm

What started a few weeks ago as mostly brown with some yellows has begun to really get their color on this week in the Clinton area. Water or cold or what, but lots of the green that was hangin in there is coming in well with more yellow and reds. The hill tops seem to have more color.

The wind today stripped a lot off but it may be worth a peek this weekend. Wonder what the predicted freeze will do to it.

The UA campus (mainly the lawn near Old Main) has been painted with all the great colors of fall this week. Hoping to make it out to the Upper Buffalo area on Saturday to see how things are out there. I got up to White Rock Mountain a few weeks ago and hardly anything had started to turn at that time.

Think the cold this evening may do the lower elevations (at least at the higher latitudes in the state) in though.

Here is a picture of my terrible terrible walk to school from today...

North Waldron Road and Grand Ave. Fort Smith. Had to pull over and get a few pictures of three maple trees. One yellow, one red and one orange. Enjoy fall while you can!

The weekend freezes turned most of what was left. Still too much brown, but the hills are colored up. I stopped to take a pic... old school me forgets my phone can do that... but the light was wrong. Did not show the color well.

If it hangs till the weekend???? but stormy weather is predicted for the moment anyway. I am sure forecast will change by Sat
