ouachita and degray lakes

Post by dan valovich » Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:09 pm

Paddled 6miles on degray saturday and 7 miles on ouachita sunday.
Spotted a female osprey on saturday. Females have a chained necklace. Also a lot of kingfishers.
Saw several baldies on sunday at rabbit tail along with a pair of otters and wood ducks swimming with mallards.
Low lake levels has lots of treetops laying in wait for an ambush.

Those are great. Thanks for sharing. Are there any parts of Lake Ouachita where bald eagles are seen more than others?

During the eagle survey with the corp of engineers in jan of 2010 we counted 89 bald eagles. They seemed to be evenly distributed on the lake.

Its Deer season up here in MO!

So to celebrate, I went out.

Of course, I can't compare with Dan's stuff, but at least I didn't shoot my own foot!

Oh wait! I guess you are supposed to take a firearm! All I heard was my Canon going off!

Now THAT'S the way to shoot deer! Really nice shots. I especially like the ...keyhole...eyehole... knothole.... shot.

Those are some beautiful photos. I'm just curious, what camera are you using?
