"Strategically placed rebar"???
What happens when a swimmer or overturned kayaker hits a length of rebar with no protection other than a wetsuit or drysuit?
Will it take serious injury or even someone getting killed for this practice to stop?
I can't even think about it happening without losing my temper. Some people have made some very poor decisions, and placing booby traps is near the top of the list.

I think you're Preaching to the Choir on this one. I'd be surprised if anybody who actually boats would be able to flame this post ;)
Smile, summer run-off is coming!!!

The Taylor is such a beautiful run, it is a shame.

Been in the Taylor River area a number of times and it is another one of Colorado's special places.

Been blessed to run the "normal run of the Taylor" several times and it is indeed one of my most favorite CO fun runs. almost constant class 2plus to solid 3 drops, crystal clear water and always cold no matter what the air temp. Would love to run the upper section (runs thru the Texas fishing resort that is at the center of restricting boater access) but things just have not worked out for me to do that run. Bottom line - if you are in the area, the Taylor is running and you are comfortable on continuous class 3 type runs then you need to make this run just in case boater access is restricted.
