I was just thinking, maybe next year we, as the canoe club, we can get together and join in the Great Arkansas clean up. I, next year will try and organize something, so y'all been watching for that.

Hmmm, I thought we, as ACC, had 22 paddlers present for the Great Arkansas Cleanup on the Buffalo River yesterday?? :poke: You shoulda been there for the fun! :hammer: We had a great time. Picked up trash, and talked a little trash, from Hwy 14 bridge to Rush. Shuttle was provided. DeBo caught snakes. Cowper pushed people down the river with his raft/barge. Got free T-shirts from Great Arkansas Cleanup. A beautiful day on the river.

We all get another chance next weekend, with the Lee Creek Clean-up, another "great clean-up" affiliated event, if I'm not mistaken.

It will be a couple of days, but check back and I'll post any photos I have (only took a few).

Found out after the float that "Buffalo Gals Cafe" has a really good Buffalo burger, and learned that April (one of the two rangers who followed us down the river) is apparently married to a guy I have run Richland Creek with. Small world...

glad to hear about another good burger spot out that buffalo way.

Also glad to hear somone wants to do some more cleaning up in affiliation with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful/Great american cleanup.

it's a great way to get the basic materials for a cleanup in either spring or fall. So is stream team for that matter.

They could go nice with the already existent longpool road pick-up, or even go beyond.

good luck with your efforts.

Hi Minna,
It was flowing, but we paddled most of the way. I only got stuck briefly on a gravel bar once, but PainterBob was close and pulled me off the rocks. I'm going back tomorrow, so I can fish. It's only down a couple of inches from Saturday.
