Jeff Courtway organizes activities for the Outdoor Adventure Club which is an organization that gets kids outdoors from Youth Bridge. Youth Bridge is a non-profit for impact agency that serves teens and their families in the areas of abuse, neglect, addiction, homelessness, mental health issues and behavioral problems.
They are doing canoe/kayak lessons this saturday (9/25/10) at Lake Wedington from about 8:30 to 12:00 and you can stay for a cookout afterwards if you like. There will be 24 kids broken up into 2 groups of 12 ages 14-18 all male. He is looking for anyone who can help with some very basic instrution to get these kids on the water. You can teach the canoe or kayak part which ever one you feel comfortable with. All equipment will/can be privided.

I could help part of the time but would probably have to leave early since I've got tickets to the Razorback game and my family will be in town! If ya'll are in that much need or part of the time is okay then let me know and I can contact Jeff.

As Cody mentioned above Jeff's work/cell phone number is (479) 856-2889. I just spoke with Jeff and he wanted to reiterate that the boys are only needing the very basics right now...parts of canoes and kayaks, differences in paddling the two, basic paddling strokes, etc. Don't feel that you have to be an instructor in order to be beneficial to the boys/program.FarPastGone wrote:...let me know and I can contact Jeff.
