Re: Wilson Creek Ouachita RIver Fight Continues...
What a HORRIBLE thing for UMETCO Minerals Corporation to do to our beautiful and natural state. To think that water quality standards are actually regressing for no other reason than to increase a company's profits is awful. What can a non-local Arkansan do to help with this local matter? Thanks for the awareness John.

Channel 16 doesn't list a time for Thursday's meeting.
Re: Wilson Creek Ouachita RIver Fight Continues...
I heard the Thursday meeting is 6pm. This is the church across from Lakeside Groc?
I'll be there.
I'll be there.

Attended a "Friend of the Ouachita" meeting in Arkadelphia tonight. Word there was that the meeting was listed in the paper as 5:30 rather than 6:00. So show up early or it may be over before you get to be counted.
Public comments must be in by Monday, Sept 20.

Mom reads the Malvern paper. She said there had been zero mention of this in it. Seems like it should have, since Malvern's water comes out of the river.

Chris Williams and Mike Burris were there. Chris Williams asked questions the UMETCO people couldn't answer. He wasn't the only one. Maybe this stands a decent chance of not getting passed.

UMETCO's failure to come into compliance with state law was the top front page story in today's Hot Springs Sentinel-Record.
