roll class?

Post by love2bchichi » Sun Sep 05, 2010 10:51 am

I'm looking for a roll class near Fayetteville, Ar. I'm pretty new to the whitewater scene and needing a little guidance and training on it. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Sonia

Below is a link to the ACC Northwest Chapter information. Perhaps one of the officers can give you additional information or you may wish to attend the next meeting.

Roll sessions are typically held in the winter/early spring (except for those lucky folks in Little Rock who have them available most of the year).

The UofA outdoor center hosts lessons at the end of September, but if you don't need the full-on lesson, it's a little steep. ($25 for students, $35 for non university people.) There is one practice-only session for 5 bucks on October 7th. Beyond that, I don't know of other places that have roll sessions. If you're looking to work on rolls without a skirt, drop me a line. 8)

I second Shep on this one. The university runs a pretty good clinic and it is worth the money.

Eric Esche pointed out that the NWA chapter sessions at the Jones Center will start ramping up as the fall arrives. Those are free. I expect the schedule will be discussed at the next meeting. I hope I won't be the only open boater there! :D

Lewis and Clark Outfitters in Springdale also offers roll classes $40 for a 2 hr class and they can be 1 on 1. They can also privide gear if needed.
